Tell us what's happening — that's all it takes to get started.

Tuesday 9am – 6pmWednesday 9am – 6pmFriday 9am – 6pmSaturday by appointment

Go to the Emergency Room Immediately If You Have:

Fever with facial swelling  ·  Swelling spreading to your neck or eye  ·  Difficulty swallowing or breathing  ·  Severe uncontrolled bleeding  ·  These are signs of a spreading dental infection — a medical emergency. Call 911 or go to the nearest ER. Do not wait for a dental appointment.

See Us Same-Day

Severe toothache — constant, throbbing pain that over-the-counter medication does not adequately control.

Dental abscess — swelling on the gum or in the jaw. May indicate spreading infection.

Broken tooth with pain — fracture exposing the nerve or causing acute pain.

Knocked-out adult tooth — time is critical. Keep the tooth moist and call immediately.

Lost filling with pain — exposed dentin causing sharp sensitivity.

Urgent — Call to Schedule Within 1–2 Days

Lost crown — tooth is unprotected; sensitive but not always painful.

Broken tooth without pain — chip or crack without nerve exposure.

Lost filling without pain — open cavity; bacteria can re-enter.

Soft tissue injury — bitten lip or cheek not bleeding excessively.

Persistent gum soreness — not acute but worth checking soon.

Come to Mi Smile Family Dental

  • Severe toothache or dental pain
  • Lost crown, filling or bridge
  • Broken tooth — with or without pain
  • Dental abscess — localized swelling
  • Knocked-out adult tooth
  • Dental injury from accident or fall

We diagnose, treat and provide lasting relief — not just temporary pain management.

Go to the Emergency Room

  • Fever with facial or jaw swelling
  • Swelling spreading to neck or eye
  • Difficulty swallowing or breathing
  • Severe uncontrolled bleeding
  • Facial trauma — possible fracture
  • Dental pain outside office hours with systemic symptoms

ERs stabilize infection spread but cannot restore teeth — follow up with a dentist.

When in doubt about severity, go to the ER. Dental infections can spread rapidly.

A Knocked-Out Adult Tooth Is a True Dental Emergency — Act Fast

  • Handle the tooth by the crown (top), never by the root
  • If dirty, rinse gently with clean water — do not scrub or dry it
  • If possible, place it back in the socket immediately
  • If not, keep it moist: in milk, saline, or between cheek and gum
  • Call 832-779-5522 and come in immediately — do not wait

Re-implantation success decreases significantly after 30–60 minutes. Protocol sourced from the American Association of Endodontists — aae.org, accessed 2026.

A dentist who chose public health first

Dr. Maddipati earned her Master of Public Health before her dental degree — which means she thinks about the whole patient, not just the tooth. Honest, accessible, and kind. She accepts Medicaid because she means it.

Her patients often tell her she's the first dentist who made them feel truly at ease — even when they arrived scared and in pain.

Dr. Maddipati examines and explains

She looks carefully, takes an X-ray if needed, and tells you exactly what she's seeing before recommending anything.

Treatment and a clear follow-up plan

Emergency treatment stabilizes the situation. We schedule any follow-up before you leave so you're never left wondering what comes next.

Your Emergency Visit Should Be Affordable

We verify your coverage before you arrive. No surprise bills, no guesswork.

Medicaid & Medicare Advantage

We accept Texas Medicaid (STAR) for adults and CHIP for children. Many Medicare Advantage (Part C) dental plans are also welcome. Call us with your plan and we look it up before you come in.

PPO — Emergency Visits and Your Annual Benefits

Emergency exams and X-rays are typically covered by most PPO plans at the same benefit rate as routine visits, subject to your deductible. Using benefits for an emergency visit usually does not affect your remaining preventive allowance. We check your specific plan before every appointment.

Plans accepted: Aetna · Delta Dental · Cigna · MetLife · Guardian · Humana · United Healthcare · Texas Medicaid · CHIP · Medicare Advantage · CareCredit · Sunbit financing

Coverage varies by plan. We verify your individual benefits before your appointment. CareCredit and Sunbit financing subject to lender approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

General information only. When in doubt about the severity of your situation, err on the side of caution and seek care immediately.
During office hours (Tue, Wed, Fri 9am–6pm), we do our best to accommodate same-day appointments for patients in acute pain. Call 832-779-5522 as early in the day as possible — same-day availability depends on the schedule when you call. We will always be honest with you about whether we can fit you in and help you find next steps if we cannot.
Call 832-779-5522 immediately. While on your way in: handle the tooth by the crown (white part) only, not the root. Rinse gently if dirty — do not scrub or dry it. If possible, replace it in the socket immediately. If not, keep it moist in milk, saline, or between your cheek and gum. Time is critical — re-implantation becomes significantly less successful after 30–60 minutes.
Go to the emergency room immediately. Fever with facial swelling can indicate a dental infection that has spread beyond the tooth — this is a medical emergency requiring IV antibiotics and medical management, not just dental treatment. Do not wait for a dental appointment. Call 911 or go to the nearest ER. After you're stabilized, follow up with us for the dental treatment.
Most PPO dental plans cover emergency exams and X-rays at the same benefit rate as routine visits, subject to your deductible. Medicaid may cover emergency extractions and limited palliative treatment. We verify your specific plan before your visit and give you a cost estimate. CareCredit and Sunbit financing are available for any out-of-pocket portion — both subject to lender credit approval.
A lost crown is urgent but typically not an acute same-day emergency unless you're in significant pain. The tooth underneath is now unprotected and may be sensitive. Call us and we'll get you in as soon as possible — usually within a day or two. Over-the-counter temporary dental cement from a pharmacy can provide short-term protection while you wait.
