What to Look For in Any Dental Practice

Get a cost estimate before treatment begins. Dental chains in North Houston have been cited in patient reviews for quoting deep cleanings at prices significantly above the Houston area average of $600–$800. At Mi Smile Family Dental, we contact your insurance before your appointment and give you a written estimate before any work starts.
Know who is treating you. Multi-provider group practices rotate dentists between locations. Some patients report never seeing the same provider twice. At Mi Smile Family Dental, Dr. Soujanya Maddipati personally examines every patient at every visit. No rotating associates.
Confirm your full treatment can be completed. Patients at high-volume practices have reported being told mid-appointment there was "no time" to complete recommended fillings. We do not book more than we can deliver. If you need fillings, we schedule enough time to do them.
Independent vs. franchise. Mi Smile Family Dental is physician-owned and independent — not a franchise or dental chain. Dr. Maddipati owns and operates this practice. Your care is not driven by corporate production quotas.

Patient experience observations based on publicly available Google reviews for dental chains in the North Houston area, accessed March 2026. Individual experiences vary.
