You're wondering if veneers will look fake or if spending thousands on cosmetic work is worth it when you have other bills to worry about.

Dr. Maddipati shows you photos of actual veneer cases from our office and discusses realistic costs upfront — a clear estimate of fees before treatment. She explains which teeth need veneers versus which might benefit from simpler whitening or bonding.

Veneers are ultra-thin, custom-crafted shells bonded to the front surface of teeth to address concerns related to color, shape, size, and overall appearance. Candidacy and outcomes are determined at examination.

What Can Veneers Fix?

  • Stained or discolored teeth that don't respond to whitening
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Irregularly shaped or sized teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Slightly misaligned teeth

The Veneer Process

Consultation: We discuss your goals and confirm suitability.

Preparation: A small amount of enamel is removed to make room for the veneer.

Impressions: Molds are sent to the lab for custom fabrication.

Placement: Veneers are bonded with a strong adhesive and curing light.

How Long Do Veneers Last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers last 10–15 years or longer. They resist staining and look very natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

Porcelain veneers typically last 10-15 years with normal care. They can chip or need replacement, but most patients are happy with their investment for over a decade.
Most insurance plans don't cover veneers since they're cosmetic. We accept CareCredit and Sunbit for monthly payments, and we'll give you exact costs before any work starts.
First visit: we remove a thin layer of enamel and take impressions (about 1 hour). Second visit: we bond the custom veneers to your teeth (1-2 hours). Mild sensitivity is normal for a few days.
Yes, Dr. Maddipati places veneers in our Houston office. We work with a local lab for custom porcelain veneers and can show you before/after photos from actual patients.

An Important Note on Enamel Preparation

Veneers are a permanent decision. Preparing a tooth for a veneer involves removing a very thin layer of enamel from the front surface — approximately the thickness of a fingernail. This step makes room for the veneer to sit naturally within your smile line. Once a tooth is prepared, it will always need a veneer or crown for protection. Dr. Maddipati explains this clearly before any work begins, and she will only recommend veneers when they are truly the right solution for your case.

Caring for Your Veneers

Porcelain veneers are cared for the same way as natural teeth — daily brushing with a non-abrasive toothpaste and regular flossing. With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer before replacement is needed.

  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush — medium or hard bristles can scratch porcelain over time
  • Avoid biting directly into very hard foods (ice, hard candy, raw almonds) with veneered teeth
  • If you grind your teeth at night (bruxism), mention this to Dr. Maddipati — a custom night guard significantly extends the life of veneers and is one of the most important protective steps
  • Continue 6-month check-ups so Dr. Maddipati can monitor fit and appearance over time

Are Veneers Right for You?

Veneers work best when teeth are structurally healthy, with no active decay or significant bone loss. They are ideal for stains that don't respond to whitening, chips, irregular shapes, or small gaps in the front teeth. For minor single-tooth concerns, cosmetic bonding may be a simpler, less expensive option — Dr. Maddipati will recommend the approach that is genuinely best for your situation.
